Sister and Friend

Growing up we were always a close family. My dearest friends were my siblings, and not because they had to be. I truly loved being with them, and over the past few years our family has scattered to different states and some have married. So whenever I get a visit with a sibling from out of town I cherish the time spent with them and enjoy the talks we can have that long distance makes it hard to.

My dear sister came home this past weekend, my confidant, my friend. The time was cherished and enjoyed! I love being able to have late night chats and catching up with all that we miss out on in each others lives!

I love you Mandy! Thank you for always being my wonderful sister and dear friend!

More In Love

Since the first time I saw a picture of my new little brother I fell in love. His smile captured my heart. And yesterday as I got to meet him face to face for the first time, there was no denying he had my heart. His smile was even more infectious in person. It was such a joyous and wonderful day to be able to spend a few hours getting to know him a little. I look forward with great anticipation to when he is in our home forever and I can spend time getting to know his likes and dislikes, 23 days to go!

For now I am not allowed to post photos of his adorable face, but here is at least a shot of him from our visit :)

At the start of our visit yesterday he was very apprehensive of all the unfamiliar faces, it was stimulation overload, but as the time went on he became more comfortable and his smiles were offered more freely. I loved when I was holding him and he would snuggle in as close as he could. He is not able to speak, but that does not mean he can't communicate, he has such a personality already :)

Greatly looking forward to our next visit with him!

What's New?!

Lately home renovations and organizing have been high on the To-Do list as we ready ourselves for our precious new addition.

The room that will be our little man's was never fully finished when we moved into our home years ago, and while refinishing the room we added some extra walls that were needed to make this space a more suitable room.

Now drum roll please.... we have a date!! June 19th! A date when our new kiddo will arrive in his new home, our home. He will be here in 31 days! (but who's counting ;) It is so nice to have a date to countdown to, I am thrilled, excited, overjoyed, elated, I could go on and on :)

Now I need to have a proud sister moment. Some might wonder if the youngest in the house is upset that he will no longer be the "baby" of the family. Our situation couldn't be farther from that. Maxim has not once complained of having to change something to make room for his new little brother, or what toys he might not be able to leave lying around that could be dangerous for a little kiddo to get their hands on. On the contrary, he is testing out all his toys to see if they are safe for his new little brother. Every protective bone in his body is on high alert, and he wants to be sure his brother will be safe and happy. Maxim has happily said he would get rid of something if we thought our new little guy wouldn't be safe. Though that is not needed to happen, it's the sweet, unselfish thought that tugs at my heartstrings, and if you know Maxim this is a huge act of love for him. Maxim, even on his hard days, has such a heart for younger children. He wants to make sure no child knows the pain he has had. He wants to protect and love them the best way he knows how. I know he is going to be an awesome big brother (I'm not biased at all :).

Maxim was quite thrilled when we bought this shirt for him!
