Laughter

Maxim, to me, has one of the most contagious laughs. I love to hear it! I love this picture. It captures Maxim so happy and for a moment he does not have all the fears and pains of his past. It makes me so overjoyed to see true joy and happiness on this little guy's face.

С Днем Рождения!

Monday was a celebration, a celebration of the life of my darling little sister who was turning twelve. It was Nastya's first birthday with our family. There was so much joy to see her ooh and ahh over everything. She had the sweetest and most happy smile on her face most of the day. As I was tucking Nastya into bed Monday night she broke into tears, not sad tears but tears she said of being so happy, overwhelmed, and thankful. She said to me "you have no idea how happy and thankful I feel to be with a family that loves me".

Nastya has blossomed so very much over these past months. She has such a personality. She is caring, talkative, wants to know about everything, loves being goofy, loves to laugh, she is our little drama queen :) I am so very blessed and thankful to God for letting us be a part of her life!

Nastya chose to have Russian foods for every meal on her birthday. Breakfast was Blini :)

She was wicked excited about the meat for her Shashlik!

She awoke to the house being decorated. She wanted to show off some of her balloons!

Maxim wanted to buy Nastya flowers :)

Sisters! This day was so special :)

It comes in very handy having a Russian market near us. Food from there is what Nastya wanted for lunch (fish and beet salad).  I couldn't show you the rest of what she picked, because she gobbled it up before she even got home from the market (summer salad and a salami stick).

Beautiful girl!

She was SOOOO happy to have her Shashlik!

Anything pink, sparkly, and girly is Nastya.

Hugging her card from mom and poppy. "This is the bestest card ever"

Her smile is contagious! She had so much joy and excitement over her cake.

147 Million Orphans!

I ordered myself a shirt from 147 Million Orphans and when it came in the mail Maxim wanted to know why I wanted it and what it was for. Once he found out the money went to help orphaned children and grow awareness he said so sweetly “Jessie, Jessie, pleeeease, do me a favorite (favor lol) buy me one so people will see me wearin' it and maybe they will want little boys like me too”. Maxim just melts my heart everyday. Nastya burst into tears at the reality that there are so many children in this world that still do not have parents. Her little heart so yearns to help and see orphans adopted. I feel so blessed that God has given these two precious children to our family!

Everyday till his shirt came he asked "how many more days?"
He was SO excited when it finally arrived.

Please pray that the church would rise up and care and adopt these fatherless children around the world.  James 1:27 "Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world."
